TOOLKIT / GETTING STARTED

Download and use Workstation Toolkit.

ExGP Workstation Toolkit brings Windows 11 configuration, maintenance, and supported recovery into one desktop utility.

Public preview

This software is under active testing. Start on a noncritical computer or virtual machine and back up important files before making system changes.

1. Choose an official release

Open the official ExGP Releases page. Read the notes for your chosen release, including known issues and Windows requirements.

Download the portable Windows ZIP and its accompanying SHA256SUMS.txt. Verify the ZIP against the published checksum, then extract it to obtain ExGP.WorkstationToolkit.exe. The executable is self-contained, so a separate .NET runtime installation is not required.

2. Verify the download

Compare the downloaded ZIP’s SHA-256 hash with its entry in the release’s checksum file. In PowerShell, use the following command with the actual path to your download:

Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 -LiteralPath "C:\path\to\ExGP-Workstation-Toolkit-Windows.zip"

The values should match exactly. A matching hash checks the file against the published checksum; it does not independently verify the publisher’s identity.

3. Open the Toolkit

Many operations require administrator permissions. Read each tool’s explanation before applying a change and check its supported recovery behavior.

The published preview executable is signed. Windows SmartScreen or Smart App Control may still display a warning for a new or unfamiliar download. Do not disable Windows security protections to bypass a block. Consult the release notes and preview requirements.

4. Understand recovery

Toolkit Change History can restore supported changes made and recorded by the Toolkit. The separate Windows Settings Repair feature provides targeted corrections for selected Windows configuration issues.

These tools do not provide a blanket Windows reset, undo arbitrary third-party changes, or replace a backup. OEM branding and user profile folder tools have their own specialized workflows.

5. Share useful feedback

Send feedback through the software inquiry form. Include:

Do not post credentials, recovery keys, or sensitive security findings publicly.

Preview use and distribution

The application source is not published in the distribution repository. The portable download contains the signed executable; no PowerShell launcher is required. Public availability is not an open-source license; consult the licensing FAQ for permissions.
